PotterCast episode 181 is now here for your listening pleasure. Join us this week on another edition PotterCast, our Harry Potter podcast, recorded live with an online audience for the latest news, discussion, and so much more. As with each episode, it starts with the latest news from our very own Sue, who tells us about new photos of Rupert Grint from the upcoming Cherrybomb, an interview with actor Jim Broadbent (Slughorn), Dan Radcliffe’s comments on Harry Potter book purists, the return of Dobby for Deathly Hallows, and false rumors about Jo Rowling attending the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. This segment then leads into a slightly spoiler-filled conversation with our live audience on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince being rated PG. We also have more details on a live LeakyMug at Azkatraz this July in San Francisco, California and a reminder to reserve your place at LeakyCon 2009, our own Harry Potter conference, before registrations run out! We also give a quick update on the next installment of the PotterCast Acting Troupe. Up next, Bit by Bit is here with the next bit of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, where the Quartet discusses Chapter 19, “The Silver Doe.” The three weeks of Snape then begins with the first part in our series, where the motivations for Snape’s actions, his time at Hogwarts, and whether he really loved Harry are featured. Finally, in the Wrap Up, Melissa, Sue, John, and Frak talk of the Leaky Song (bottom of the main page), John and Frak’s PotterCast Vlog questions, The Whomping Willows tour, and more. To listen, just

Great episode. :DAvatar Image says: If you could give us more notice before the live tapings that would be great!!!Avatar Image says: jOBAMA !!!!! I am definately not off topic hereAvatar Image says: I watched the inauguration yesterday i have to say that last preacher sounded a bit racist to meAvatar Image says: He said white man, brown man, red man, and yellow man. Am i the only person seeing what was wrong with this?Avatar Image says: On the bright side there will be no more defense of marriage act or don't ask don't tellAvatar Image says: I really really really really really wanted the scene in the movie with Dean and Ginny and Ron and Harry, I think it is a good scene, it shows the struggle that Harry has, realizing Ginny is a girl, and that she is his best friend's sister. oh wellAvatar Image says: Oh god. I sound so stupid in that clip, haha! I was in shock from actually being on the phone with pottercast! :D oh well, hope everyone enjoys it!Avatar Image says: Goodbye Christian Conservatives your reign of terror is over. Don't let the door hit you where the good lord split youAvatar Image says: Squeee! This is the one that I was almost on! Love it :)Avatar Image says: Tim this is a Harry Potter fan site not a christian, atheist, or political site, this isn't the site to make those remarks, please stay on topic. Avatar Image says: i really thought i read someswhere that they have ginny and dean kiss in the three broomsticks, am i crazy?? and also, i listend to the live chat about snape on the phone on the night that they did it, and you can listen to it sepretley from this podcast, right?? why did they put it on here? i'm probably wrong. whatever!!! i love the show. but john, i think that barack and jo should stay with their respective spouces:):) wow-michelle and barack dancing to beyonce last night...wow...sorry way off topic and probably too polotical.Avatar Image says: Dean and Ginny DO kiss in the movie. Many test screeners confirmed it. It's different from the book though. The trio see them kissing in the Three Broomsticks and Ron gets grossed out.Avatar Image says: Well actually the inauguration is mentioned at the top. If you bothered to read itAvatar Image says: Thanks for clearing that up Jen! I couldn't for the life of me remember at all if they kissed or not! :D Avatar Image says: No problem lol. :) I remembered it because I was very happy when I found out they left some Dean/Ginny kissing in there.Avatar Image says: @ Tim with the white man, brown man, yellow man, red man thingy: yeah i know what's missing! woman! ;-)Avatar Image says: @ Tim Reverend Lowery was taking the "If you’re white, you’re alright; if you’re brown, stick around; if you’re yellow, you’re mellow; but if you’re black, get back." "We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get back, when brown can stick around; when yellow will be mellow; when the red man can get ahead, man and when white will embrace what is right." His version of it expresses the exact opposite idea. (Just for the record, I'm not at all surprised if you didn't know this. I only knew it because I read it in my newspaper this morning. I must say that flipping around one of the most racist things you could say was a really great way of making the point. Quite clever.) @ Emmy As for woman, that's simply does not fit into such a reworking of the quote and is a completely different issue which is completely irrelevant, at least in this context. @ Tim (again) I have to agree wholeheartedly with Carebie. While yes, the inauguration is mentioned, such nasty comments are completely uncalled for. Let's stick with PotterCast not politics, after all, this was a great one. :)Avatar Image says: @Tim: My first grade class, in 1995, we taught our students that form of address...so it wouldn't be "upsetting" to anyone. I agree with Carebie: please stay "on topic"...this isn't the place. On topic: yah, I think it's good that they are brining out the "Harry/Ginny/Ron" difficulties. It's going to play an interesting part of the whole story.Avatar Image says: Hi Katie- you were brilliant, I was really happy to hear from someone who had actually seen the movie. And no, you did not sound silly or scared - in my opinion you carried yourself marvelously!Avatar Image says: Thanks IhateVi! I'm glad you enjoyed it, though I'll have to disagree on the sounding silly part hehe! :D Avatar Image says: When we finally see the scene where Alan Rickman's Snape asks to look into Lily's eyes one last time we are all going to lose it... Though how we get to/from that point will be verrry treacherous screenwriting. The book can make these revelations in a dramatic way - chapter by chapter - bit by bit but Kloves will have to get it all across in 2 to 3 minutes of screen time.
