In the wake of a tragic accident that took part in pre-production for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Potter film producers will be improving on their safety standards. The Telegraph reminds us that David Holmes, stunt double for actor Dan Radcliffe (Harry), was seriously injured while rehearsing an aerial sequence, and subsequently a formal investigation into the accident has been ongoing. The paper reports that the Health and Safety Executive in the UK has “issued an interim improvement notice. It means that DDD Co Ltd, set up for the production of the film for which Mr
Holmes was practicing stunts, has until the end of June to make improvements.A spokesman said: “The investigation is still ongoing. As a remedial act
we have issued an improvement notice to the company asking them to improve
the way they do stunt rehearsals using wires.”They have got two months to look at that.”
