A number of actors from the Harry Potter films have donated original doodles for National Doodle Day 2009, a charitable event that benefits Epilepsy Action and the Neurofibromatosis Association. This year, actors Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Imelda Staunton (Umbridge), Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Sean Biggerstaff (Oliver Wood), Zoe Wanamaker (Madam Hooch), and Jim Broadbent (Slughorn), are among the slew of celebrities to show off their artistic ability and donate their work for this cause. The full gallery of doodles, including Mr. Broadbent’s very detailed and artistic sketch, can be viewed here. An auction will start on February 27th for these pieces, all proceeds of which will go to benefit those who are affected by epilepsy and neurofibromatosis. Additionally, voting is open to choose your favorite celebrity doodle of 2009. More information about the two charities can be found here, while additional auction information can be found via this link.

Hmmm......Avatar Imagewizardinventor says: Cool and they are going to a good cause! I wonder why Dan's is a photo, not a doodle? Hmmm......Avatar Imagephantomdave79 says: If you go to the full gallery there are a few pictures instead of doodles. This is pretty cool.Avatar ImageGinevra86 says: Robbie's is awesome! Not sure what's up with Dan's... Avatar ImageT-Vey says: Robbie Coltrane's were definitely the best! Also loved Staunton's doodle with the kitties! Avatar Imagehp29 says: that's really cool!Avatar ImageSirius_Craic says: If Dan wasn't so cute in that picture I would join in saying, whats the deal with Dan's, but its a cool picture. My favourite is the third one by Jim Broadbent!Avatar ImageGraymayne says: Nice one, Jim! That's quite a talent you have there.Avatar Imagejonfrog says: hurray for celebrity doodling! Avatar ImageAccioCloak says: Like Robbie's car - pity it's a toy!!Avatar ImageSevPotter says: Yay for celebrity charity giving!Avatar Imageabigailonleakyy says: I love Jim's!Avatar ImageCool Grandma2 says: I have a lot of doodles. Maybe I should save them if I ever become famous. Lol Seriouly for a moment, I think they will be able to raise a great deal of money for charity. I would buy one. Avatar Imagetinagin says: Very nice. I love doodling, and this is such a worthy cause.Avatar Imagetaekwondochik44 says: Robbie's is sooo awesome! I didn't know he could draw! lolAvatar ImageGarden State Geek says: It's great that these guys are willing to do this kind of charity work. Avatar ImageThe Silver Doe music says: What an awesome idea! I wish I was famous enough so I could just doodle something to raise money for charity. :) I have to agree that it's kinda lame for Dan to just have a signed picture. Jim and Robbie's were very impressive, and I thought Imelda's was cute too.Avatar ImageSophie Treklemmer says: I hope they post Daniel Radcliffe's doodle soon, instead of a photo. It all looks so awesome! Avatar ImageThe Hufflepuff Giraffe says: Haha. These are cool. Especially Imelda's, Robbie's, and Jim's. :)Avatar Imagejulvett says: aw, I love Hagrid's!Avatar ImageBradyboy says: That's really cool, more celebrities should do that. Avatar ImageJKMcGonagall says: I think Dan's is his doodle. If you look at his face, he has given his picture a black eye. I'm sure that wasn't in the original photo. I had to really look at it to see it. Of course, I could be wrong, but.... Kay (JKMcGonagall)Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: It is just fantastic of them to do this. I hope they raise plenty of money.Avatar ImageMini_Moose says: Yeah and dan's is the same as last years ... werid. Avatar Imagemhaeyemhaeye says: LOL at Dan's not so doodle picture! Hahaha... Well, it's for a good cause which is awesome. :)Avatar ImageNiphai says: They are great.. but it's unfortunately that Dan's just a photoAvatar Imageanne1 says: Jim Broadbent's is great and I like 'Dolores'' kittens! Disappointed that Dan's wasn't a doodle. But there are quite a few other signed photos on the site so he's not the only one. At least it will make money for a good cause. Maybe he's just not artistic. If you're not artistic and are asked to contribute then it's hard to come up with something; I've been in the same situation myself. Maybe he thought he needed to do something good; someone should tell him it can just be a scribble of nothing. Avatar Imagemugglemom4 says: I love the ideas they come up with for charities. Avatar ImageBewareoftheNargles says: Wow! They're really great! Not the doodles, particularly, but its a good way to raise money for charity!Avatar ImageRachael says: I think it's so great, the work these actors do for charity.Avatar Imagejenvomitvos says: what the heck is up with dan's? that's like a sketch lockhart would do!Avatar ImageMr. Brightside says: Coltrane has some skills there, nice. But Daniel..., at least it's a really good photo (i like photography :p)Avatar ImageErinM says: Robbie's is pretty cool...Glad they're using their celebrity to help others!Avatar Imagechoirgeek says: LOL, Robbie Coltrane's is definitely the best one :D He's so funny. But, wow, who knew that Jim Broadbent was an artist??Avatar Imagedopaminescenesta says: why didn't dan actually draw something? Avatar Imagebadger666 says: Awesome!Avatar Imageregina says: i think Dan’s wasn’t a doodle because of dan can't doodle (his dyspraxia)Avatar Imagerhadamenthes says: No doodle from Dan? Disappointing. Robbie Coltrane's is excellent. Also really liked Jonathan Stewart and Heston Blumenthal's doodles. May have to place a bid! Very cool charity fundraiser!!Avatar Imagesophie619 says: i love Jims doodle! all of his from past years are neat as well :)Avatar Imagesophie619 says: i love Jims doodle! all of his from past years are neat as well :)Avatar ImageNayNay3782 says: Cool beans:) Doodling is so beastly!Avatar Imagenoe_lover_42 says: Go doodle!!Avatar ImagePureblood-Slytherin says: i liked sean biggerstaff's doodle.. it reminded me of his movie Cashback, which i loved... Avatar Imagepenelope_clearwater973 says: Great idea!!Avatar Imagepenelope_clearwater973 says: Slughorn's is by far the best.Avatar Imagepenelope_clearwater973 says: I can't help thinking these aren't going to raise a huge amount, but it would be cool if I'm wrong! I respect these guys for donating to charity, but I think a few of them could have put in a bit more effort. Look at Broadbent's doodle- it was really good!Avatar Imagebecmajec says: I was pretty cut that all Dan did was sign a photo. It will still probably sell for more than most of the others though hahaAvatar ImageJKMcGonagall says: Come on folks, Dan's picture isn't just signed. It is his doodle. He doodled a black eye on it. It is not much, but it does make it funnier. I'm pretty sure that the original pic didn't have a black eye. JKMcGonagall (Kay)Avatar Imageluna.quibbler says: I have one of those pictures of Dan' signed by him!!Avatar Imagewizardlibrarian says: I love that Dan does this doodle for charity. I have Neurofibromatosis myself. The fact that Harry Potter is trying to find a cure for Neurofibromatosis warms my heart.Avatar ImageAvanelleWood says: I won Sean Biggerstaff's doodle.
