March 26, 2009, 05:44 AM
There is more today on location filming that will take place on the coastline of Wales for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Previously we told you a location in South Pembrokeshire had been selected to be the site of the emotion Shell Cottage scenes. Today, Wales Online reports this filming will take place shortly after Easter, with crews due to be in the Freshwater West coastline section of Wales for some 50 days to do construction. According to the piece, "a set will be built in Pembroke Dock and moved to a site in the dunes."
Main filming for the scenes would take place over six days, and "was planned for early May."
Anyone who is in the area, please send in your photos and reports!
Full quotage as follows:
A report looking into bringing the film crew to the area was
presented to the National Park’s development management committee last
week. Members welcomed the potential benefits the films could bring to the area.
report stated: “There are obvious spin-offs, both in the immediate
input into the economy and raising the profile of the area, which may
encourage others to visit.” Planning officer Cathy Milner said:
“It’s a huge bonus for Pembrokeshire. There’s the input of the finance,
and it will also raise the county’s profile.” Ms Milner said Freshwater
West had captured the film makers’ imagination and six days’ filming
was planned for early May.The Harry Potter crew is expected to
be in the area for 50 days. A set will be built in Pembroke Dock and
moved to a site in the dunes.
I cannot wait to see more pictures of this location. It truly seems as though they have selected a fantastic and appropriate place for these scenes.
I hope Clemence Poesy comes back!… No I don’t think this tells us where the split will be and that they will be filming it like LOTR. But who knows? :P I hope the split is either right after Ron pulls Harry out of the water (showing Ron’s face briefly) or after they destroy the locket.
Well, at least we know that shell cottage will be in DH.. Good thing! :)
Yay! Wonderful time of the year to film it. :)
OH my Gryffindor! Thats awesome!
First, aren’t we assuming this is where Shell Cottage will be? We don’t have confirmation yet correct? Granted, what else could it possibly be? Also, we will see shell cottage in both films. They’ll find a way to introduce it early so we know where we’re going after Malfoy Manor. Oh, anyone wondering how they are going to bury Dobby in the dunes? Not sure how that works…
Cool – great place for Shell Cottage! :D
This is a very lovely choice for the Shell Cottage scenes!!!LOL
This place is really pretty, I can’t wait to see it on film.
In general film makers don’t film in order, they often have scenes set up for weather cover too so if it is rotten weather they do some indoor filming which can be totally unrelated to what they would be filming outdoors. They will also film around the availability of some of the adult actors who may be doing other work, and as I understand it they are also working around the fact that Emma is hoping to start University in the autumn meaning they will have to film all her scenes if possible before then.
That’s so cool! I am glad they are keeping that part in the movie, because I love that part in the book a lot, before the trio plans to break into Gringott’s. I want to see the dragon flying over England part, because that is an awesome part in the book where the trip jump into the lake.
That part would be really cool onscreen as it was in the book and my imagination.
Good news. I love the Shell Cottage Scenes.
I wonder when the split will be? I know they cast Bill, does this mean Fleur will be in the movie too? If so, will there be the wedding scene?
