Harper Collins have sent along four new pages from the forthcoming book Harry Potter Film Wizardry, which follows the ten-year process of making the Harry Potter films. The pages feature concept art and new quotations from many people behind the scenes and include: a page about the process of transforming the Great Hall into the Yule Ball for the “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” film; a page about Severus Snape and the creation of Spinner’s End; a page devoted to the village of Hogsmeade; and lastly, a page about Luna Lovegood and the Thestrals.

You can find the book’s trailer at this link and can find more pages and images from the book here in the Leaky image galleries.

Avatar ImagePolka Square says: OH MY GOSH i want this book so bad!Avatar Imagetaoist1 says: THis looks like material that is included in Ultimate Edition DVD's.Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: schweetAvatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: id just like to start by saying I want itAvatar ImageWeenyOwl says: I seem to remember that the excellent BBC radio adaptation of LOTR back in the '80s (which I have on cassette) was written by someone named Brian Sibley. Could this be the same guy? Anybody know?Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: These excerpts are such teases! At the end of each, I feel like I've just begun to scratch the surface of what I want to know about the subject. I have a feeling that this is the kind of book that will not prove very satisfying.Avatar ImageHermione Elizabeth says: Definitely going to get this book, so I won't read any of the pages until they are in my hands. So excited!!!Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: @WeenyOwl, Yes, it is the same Brian Sibley. He wrote some of the tie-in books for the film versions of LoTR, and can be seen talking about Tolkien on the 'extras' disks with the DVDs of those films. I can't think of anybody better to write something like this. Here's his website: Avatar ImageMr. Brightside says: Interesting. I might get this. lol @ the pic with the miniature Hogsmeade.Avatar Imageforgetmenot_007 says: Gonna get this!!!Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: OH MY GOSH i want this book so bad! The SFX article on his website about the making of the BBC LOTR adaptation was really fun reading - although it failed to illuminate me any further re: the bit of minutiae that still nags me about that recording: Did Bill Nighy do his own singing as Samwise?Avatar ImageCatherine says: I WANT THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Thats so exciting!Avatar Imagedeadshot says: I pre-ordered this book.Avatar ImageSindi says: Wow, i love the yule ball page, i didn't realize how much detail was put into that set, it is one of my favorite scenes, i love it! :D the book looks like it will be great :DAvatar ImageGraymayne says: I'm in the UK but I have ordered the US edition from The HP books published by Scholastic were a much better quality than the UK ones, so I'm backing a hunch.Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: @WeenyOwl, yes, Bill Nighy (or William Nighy as he was in those days!) did do his own singing as Samwise in the scenes on Weathertop and in the Tower of Cirith Ungol (though on the extra disk of music they use somebody else for one of the songs, I don't know why). Bill Nighy is actually a rather good singer--if you remember, he convincingly plays an ageing rock star in 'Love Actually'.Avatar ImageSmitch says: Yeah, I'm not overly thrilled about this book. It just doesn't seem to 'add' anything to the phenomenon, and I feel as though it would have been better in DVD form. Know what I mean? People want to see this technical stuff rather than read about it in a simplified manner. Perhaps I'm wrong, but, it's not the 80s - we can put this into interesting documented video form, no? Maybe it's something geared toward young kids - something for the classroom? Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: I missed 'Love Actually' (though I've heard it's a good flick) but I really like Bill's rendition of 'Gil-Galad Was an Elven-king'! Thanks!Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: Yes, for me it's one of the highspots of the whole adaptation, and Bill is the perfect Sam Gamgee.Avatar ImageGryffindor Lioness101 says: I want to read it when it comes out!Avatar Imagedarradiggory says: cool pics gotta get this book Avatar Imagegreenfinch says: Just got this today- it's so cool.
