There are now only 36 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

“So then I thought, I’d like you to have something to remember me by, you know, if you meet some veela when you’re off doing whatever you’re doing.”

“I think dating opportunities are going to be pretty thin on the ground, to be honest.”

“There’s the silver lining I’ve been looking for,” she whispered, and then she was kissing him as she had never kissed him before . . .

Avatar Imageabandonedboyjon says: i love ginny in deathly hallows. such a brave soul, but genuinely heartbroken.Avatar ImageJPHufflepuff says: Favorite. Quote. EVER!!! Avatar Imagejillians642 says: Ah ... the silver lining. I love this line, especially in the Stephen Fry audio book. So well delivered! I hope they have it in the movie but I strongly suspect it won't have made the cut.Avatar ImageSindi says: Great Quote!! 36 days left! :) its getting soo close! :)Avatar ImageLizzydizzy says: Aww remember years ago when she freaked out when she saw Harry! That definitely changed!Avatar Imagechikitcorpuzvesterbaek says: ginny has always been strong and gutsy. this scene broke my heart. so young and so burdened, all of them.Avatar Imagedevilskinn says: Ginny is so passionate! @chikitcorpuzvesterbaek so true! they have enough going on with falling in love, school... such great books! it just makes you bond with the characters Avatar ImageValeria-Johanna says: I think she loved Harry from the moment she saw him, when she was just a child, and that never really changed. Love is such a strong theme in the books.Avatar Imageazaadpotter says: I like ginny very much. shes really strongAvatar ImageJK.jr. says: Ginny is so strongAvatar ImageDumblebridge says: I agree Valeria-Johanna it was love at first sight, before she even knew he was Harry Potter.Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: Great Quote!! 36 days left! :) its getting soo close! :)Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: Great Quote!! 36 days left! :) its getting soo close! :)Avatar ImageDawna says: It shows how much Ginny loves & respects Harry, and stands behind him, even though she has no idea what his plans are.Avatar ImagewayneNtampa says: Absolutely one of my favorite moments from all the booksAvatar ImageThe Stew says: How romantic.Avatar ImageThe Stew says: On a side note, WOAH! Only 36 days. I feel like HBP came out like six months ago.Avatar ImageMistic Willow says: WOW!!! A most enjoyable Quote!!!! I knew that Ginny and Harry would end up together when I saw the 2nd Movie, and book, it was when the both of them were sitting on the floor of the Chamber of Secrets, and Ginny said Harry your hurt!! Harry said its Ok Ginny you need to follow the Chamber and find Ron, and then when fawks the phoenix drop his tears on Harry arm and Harry said Thanks to fox and thats right Phoenix's have healing powers!!! He said to Ginny its Ok Ginny it's just a Dream!!!! Well anyway this was one of my favorite quotes, except for when Ron burst in the room, and spoiled it all!!!! Ok he thought he was protecting his sisters feelings, but anybody who knew Harry would have realized that she was not in danger, and it was Ginny who kissed Harry not the other way around!!!!Avatar ImageMistic Willow says: Whoops forgive me I mispelled Fawkes!!!! anyway does anybody remember in the 2nd Movie when Fred, George, and Ron went to rescue Harry from the Dursley's in their Flying Car. when they got back to the Burrow, and Mrs Weasley had cooked breakfast for them, Ginny came running downstairs and ask her Mother had she seen her jumper, she was totally shocked when she realize that Harry was there, and remember Harry said Hello to her, and then Ginny backed away stunned, and Harry ask the rest of them did I say something wrong??? and Ron spoke up and said No she's been talking about you all summer, and it's really getting kinda annoying!! Avatar ImageLillylove says: I really liked Ginny through the series, but absolutely LOVE her in DH. Such a strong young woman, yet very different from Hermione, who we had seen as strong throughout. Also love Harry's witty little response, in an attempt to lighten up a very heavy time.Avatar ImageSohumdore says: :)Avatar ImageStoreyann says: So adorable. I love Harry and Ginny. Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: Our little Ginny is all grown up! What a woman!!!Avatar Imagedumbledork31 says: One of my favorite moments in the book. =]Avatar ImageIwishIwas@Hogwarts says: hope the chemistry they have in the books shows more in DH than it did in HBP...its such an important relationship they gotta get it right!Avatar Image2tal says: I love this moment ... until Ron barges in!Avatar Imagemew5645 says: cant wait Avatar Imagetealover says: I'm glad for the strong young women in the entire series of books. Luna, Hermione, Ginny, Cho and the other female Quidditch players - each of them shows all of the different strengths that exemplify grounded young women. Such a contrast to many of the "media darlings" children are bombarded with. When I was growing up, it was Nancy Drew who was strong, independent and able to face dangers and keep her wits. I'm thrilled that J.K.Rowling continued that tradition. And I sure hope this scene is in the movie - these clever lines are worthy of a classic Cary Grant movie - I can see it playing out between Grant and Myrna Loy!Avatar ImageLost Northern says: well its no my favorite part but i'm waiting for the quote of hermione and ron kissing XDAvatar Imagesueml says: I didn't really like the idea of a Harry / Ginny romance when I first heard of it (which was prior to I, myself, read HBP). I thought it was a bit strange as how Harry was like a son to the Weasleys and it seemed too brother/sister-ish at the time to me. However, the way it played out through the end of that book (HBP) and throughout DH, it made more sense and I came to think of it as very sweet. I think they'll do justice by this scene. I'm going to trust Dan Radcliffe and Bonnie Wright to get it right.Avatar Imagesueml says: Forgot a word, that should be: prior to when I, myself, read HBP. Oh for an edit button!Avatar ImageWeenyOwl says: The Harry/Ginny relationship never really came to life for me. I felt that JKR did not develop Ginny's character enough for me ever to be really rooting for her. The closest she came was the scene where Ginny's comparing Harry's and Ron's hypothetical tattoos. But having a good sense of humor and a 'hard, blazing look' on her face do not a fully rounded character make. I still think, based on their common life experiences, that Luna was Harry's true soulmate!Avatar Imagevicki_the_house_elf says: I absolutely adore Ginny, she's my favourite character out of all of them, even the trio! It's hard to believe that the shy little girl who kept knocking things over, and putting her arm in the butter dish whenever Harry was around, grew up to be such a strong, brave, fierce, funny, kind, loyal and passionate young woman! This part in the book broke my heart, Ginny finally succumed to tears :( Then my heart broke again when Harry's last thought before he died (sort of) was of Ginny <3 I can't wait to see Ginny and Harry finally get their happy ending. Avatar ImageHarrypotterultrafan says: great quote! i hope this is in the film and when ron walks in on them, tha'd be funny !! :L :D :PAvatar Imageeccentricalice says: I love the way these two interact =)Avatar ImageExpectoPatronum512 says: <3Avatar ImageLonewolf_ says: I really like Ginny :)Avatar ImageTheWaiter says: I agree with so many off you. It just breaks me to tears this scene. These quotes is kind off like I'm watching memories through a pensive. Because when I have read the books it feels like I'm in them and experience the same experience and feelings Harry, Ron, Hermione feels and experience. But it's not only them, it's every character that Rowling has let us get inside and shared their misery and pain, but also love and careness.Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: I loved that part so much! It was so sweet and lovely! That moment was great for Harry!Avatar Imagepotterfantasy says: i love the harry/ginny relationship very romantic <3Avatar ImageBless_the_children says: This was sweet - I like how Rowling reaffirms them to be soulmates when Harry remembers this moment right before he dies in the Forest. Rowling always thinks things out so well - like making Ginny one year younger than Harry so she can't come along with them on this journey (she still has the trace on her this year). Harry + Ginny = <3Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Ohhhhh! Love that part!!!Avatar Imagejoeys_mommy says: I screamed when I read that part, its Fantastic!Avatar ImageSashaSabrina says: Well, i think I might be the only one who thinks that the whole Ginny/Harry relationship was sort of false. Ginny may have loved Harry all along, but Harry only really noticed her in the 6th book. I just feel the relationship was put together out of convenience? or just sort of rushed. I think there should have been more subtle signs of how Harry felt in the earlier books that could have foreshadowed it. It was always ginny.Avatar ImageSashaSabrina says: But this scene is romantic and sweet, don't get me wrong :)Avatar Imagedilysroot says: I agreed with Sasha on this one. There is not a lot in the books that supports the jump from the kiss at the Burrow to the Epilogue relationship. Even when Voldemort is finally vanquished, Harry passes Ginny (with plans to talk to her later) and meets up with Hermione and Ron in the final scene. It seems the movies once it is revealed what their relationship it is to be, found it necessary to add romantic scenes between them that were not in the books. I guess JKR just took in consideration that the beginning of the love relationship was just that, and more happened in the 19 years to lead up to a wedding and the birth of three kids! It was like, the ship was not the thing for her. Avatar Imageabandonedboyjon says: i can see how people complain about the the fact that we didn't get to see a lot of the H/G development, but i thought it very true, this story of a young girl who holds a torch for her brother's best friend for many years. he becomes her week spot, she's actually rather vivacious and talented, but like we do so often when we like someone, she's shy around him and so he never fully realizes this. but then she tries to move on and she forgets to do that around him and suddenly he sees it! and of course, because of everything else happening in their world, there are obstacles to being together, but it is often through those obstacles that the the truth comes out, as evidenced in this moment, which ginny understands as possibly one of the last intimate moments they'll share. and in the forest scene, when he thinks he's about to die, harry thinks of his love for her again. another trying moment, another truth. i think the "evidence" of their relationship is that harry grew to love her and she loved him. sometimes, when you know someone really well, you realize you love them that way. and i think that's what h/g is really about. and as a sidenote, the movies totally mishandled h/g because they messed up the ginny characterization. they wouldn't have had to add extra scenes if they'd been able to keep the ones that were in the book. but they would have almost been out of place because bonnie's ginny is really not book-ginny. they scripted her terribly though, i don't think it was bonnie's fault.Avatar Imagemaddison says: Awwwww that was one of the best moments ever!!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar Imagewingedconverse says: one of my favorite parts of DH! I cant believe its only 36 days away!!!Avatar Imagehalfbloodprincesss says: I. Love. Ginny. but more importantly i love that ginny and harry are together in the end. i'm not completely against hermione&harry because i will agree they look adorable together and have some really touching moments, but it's like harry says she's more like his sister than his girlfriend.Avatar Imageksddancer says: Cool! I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!Avatar Imagehogwartslionchaser says: love that quote. im a total sucker for the romances in the hp series, especially harrys and ginnys... hope they have it in the movie...after all, they switched up their first kiss didnt they? Avatar Imagehonigmuffin says: Ginny had some major character development since we first met her. Love her.Avatar Imagevicki_the_house_elf says: I see the Harry/Ginny relationship starting as early as book five. In the fifth book, when Harrys angry, stressed and trying to keep away from everyone after Arthur's attack, Ginny has a go at him, tells him he's being an idiot and that there's no way that Harry attacked Arthur, and he feels comforted by her words. Then at the end of the book, Harry wants to speak to Sirius about what he saw in Snape's memories, for some reason he can't express that desire to Ron or Hermione but Ginny askeds him whats wrong and he tells her everything hes been thinking over and she makes him feel "a bit more hopeful". Then of course theres everything in HBP, Harry spending time with Ginny over the summer, getting use to her company, feeling a little annoyed when she goes to sit with her friends, and the smell of her perfume that he smells in the Amortentia (though he doesn't realise that's what it was at the time). It's very subtly written, so subtle that Harry (and the reader) don't see it coming, which is why Harry's so confused and shocked when he sees Ginny kissing Dean. I think the greatest loves happen when you least expect them.Avatar ImageAlice Weasley says: This was definitely a *SQUEE!!!!!!* moment for me when reading the book. I love Ginny, and I love her and Harry together <3Avatar Imageginnyshiel says: She should have known without this that he left her only because she would be in danger and not because he wants to... She always loved Harry. That's why she changed her boyfriends more often. She's too awesome for other boys. No puppet.Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: best moment
