There are now only 23 days left until “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” hits theaters! We are posting a quote from the first half of the book every day in celebration and to give us a chance to discuss and ponder the final book as it goes to film. Here is today’s quote!

” . . . There will be seven Harry Potters moving through the skies tonight, each of them with a companion, each pair heading for a different safe house.”

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, “The Seven Potters”

I have figured out why Harry "letting Hedwig go" just seems so wrong. Even beyond the obvious lack of loss for Harry (losing yet another piece of his childhood and of Hogwarts), it implies that the only reason Hedwig comes back after hunting is because she has to. The only reason she hangs out with Harry is because she's forced to. That just seems terribly wrong to me---she shouldn't be able to find him anywhere he goes just because of a magical tie (slavery?). She should want to---like those cats and dogs that cross the States to find the owners that moved away without them. Totally tangential to the quotation but I'm still glad I figured it out.Avatar Imagehermy091098 says: ooooo! cant wait to see it!Avatar Imageemdash84 says: 23 days?! I can't believe it. I'm so excited about this one.. haha Dan would be wearing different clothes.. haha... before of course, others change... But as what I've read, they'll be using different people for the seven Potters, during their flight, and the real Dan/Harry would be with Hagrid ...Avatar Imagemaddison says: So smart if only everyone survived R.I.P Mad Eye Avatar ImageGinnyPotter88 says: oooh excited!! Avatar Imagejimmalou78 says: I just remember Mad Eye's comments when the Advance Guard came to get Harry in OOTP. He said that if they were all killed, another guard would come and see Harry safely to headquarters. Tonks kept telling him to lighten up; that no one would get killed. It's so sad that Mad Eye does in fact get killed trying to get Harry to the Burrow. Foreshadowing that no one could have imagined that Jo put in book 5!Avatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: So great!Avatar ImageSilvery Doe says: so excited! already have my tix!Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: going to be a great scene
