Avatar Imageginnyrose says: yay we never get harry potter weekend here in the uk bet they cut a lot of it out like itv1 loves to do Avatar Imagelurking_llama says: I'm glad to see that there's going to be a HP weekend here in the UK but I have to agree with GinnyRose2004 in that ITV seems to love to cut the films. There are also far too many advert breaks so I think I'll just take out the DVDs and have my own HP weekend.Avatar ImageI Heart Harry Potter says: Somehow its always more exciting to watch it on the TV than on your DVD player. And its true we never get Harry Potter weekends in the UK!!! Avatar ImageGiant Squid says: Awesome! Can't wait to watch!Avatar Imagepotterforpresident says: A Harry Potter marathon! Perfect way to spend the weekend.Avatar ImagePaintTheSky says: It started yesterday on ABC Fam, I turned it on just as Sorcerer's Stone was ending and as the credits were rolling it said to look forward to exclusive footage from Deathly Hallows...Avatar Imagenellythemarrow says: Awww I can't watch, apparently some people have to write essays in the lounge. Oh well, ITV's an annoying commercial channel anyway, but I want to see PS/SS again!Avatar Imagecheeserpleaser says: Many thanks to ABC Family for offering to me this most tremendously wonderful and fantastic method of procrastinating for even longer the homework I should have done earlier during break!Avatar Imagetaylor819 says: Yay!Avatar Imageharrypotterfreak101 says: Harry Potter weekend never really happens in Canada......:( It always in either U.S.A or U.K, but I'll still check out the T.V listings.Avatar Imagejacket says: Wow I wish I lived in the UK I'll jsut have to have my own Harry Potter weekend! I'll invite a friend or two...Avatar Imagejacket says: Wow I wish I lived in the UK I'll just have to have my own Harry Potter weekend! I'll invite a friend or two...Avatar Imagedgfrancis says: HP season!!Avatar ImageHermione Elizabeth says: Another HP weekend! Squee!Avatar Imagemiss molly says: They just showed DH footage but it was the same footage that was on the HBP DVD. Did not look like any new footage so far. Avatar Imagebettb says: I'm so glad I'm not a kid with homework to keep me from watching one HP movie after another this weekend! COS is on now; Harry & Ron just escaped from Aragog's clutches in the Ford Anglia! What fun.Avatar Imagekbicprez says: Unlike ITV, ABC does show the films in their entirety. They also have TONS of commercial breaks. It will take 4 hours to show COS and 3.5 for GOF. That means about 1 hour of commercials during each broadcast. I've lost count of the number of times ABC has shown an HP film. There have been so many. I wonder how many people will sit through hours of HP this weekend just to see the DH preview. I'll bet it's a lot! I'll wait for YouTube. Avatar ImageI love my Spectra Specs says: Neither of these channels are in Canada :(Avatar Imagepipkin3 says: It isn't really an HP marathon on ITV. They'll just show 1 a week. And there are only about 5 ad breaks per film, about evey 25 minutes, so it is hardly a lot. CoS is going to take 2hrs 55 mins, not 4 hours! You're all acting as if ITV have massive ad breaks. Anyone who has tried to watch an american show on E4 will know just how long and numerous ad breaks can be!! Because US shows are shorter than ours.Avatar Imagemiss molly says: ABC Family does show a lot of commercials but they also run the extended versions of each movie so the movie run time is longer than what was out in the theaters & on the DVDs. The extended OOTP is on for the first time tomorrow. I can’t wait to see what they add back in.Avatar Imagetamalina says: It seems like ABC Family has a HP weekend once a month. I love it when they do. Avatar Imagetaylor819 says: This totaly made my day.Avatar Imagelizziebennett says: I think its interesting that so many people say that UK cuts out a bunch of the movie...the reason I like watching them on ABC is because they always include the tiny deleted scenes that you dont see in the regular movie. Cant wait to see clips from the 7th!!! Yay.Avatar Imagejhangelgurl says: Harry Potter weekends are my fav!!Avatar ImageNumeroUnoFan says: watchingAvatar Imagecharliepotter says: I love it when ABC Family does these weekends. It's like Christmas! :)Avatar Imageccking says: hm. i usually get them but appearently canada isn't getting them this time :'((((((((((Avatar ImageMadam Snape says: All those who'll be able to watch it: enjoy!Avatar ImageFresca says: Thanks for letting us know about this!Avatar Imagedaharja says: This has been my whole weekend.Avatar ImageSmitch says: Yay, thanks for the info! Avatar Imagellamatiger says: i woke up to hp1 ahh what a wonderful way to start the day!!Avatar Imagegryffindor1991 says: i hated the fact that the DH footage was what is on the HBP DVD. its still cool though but still, its not new. i watched the end of CoS and majority of PoA. i hope the rough cut footage from DH i read about gets leaked,Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: WOOT!Avatar Imagemoglet says: I can't bear to watch films on ITV because of the advert breaks which lead to bits being cut and also ruin the atmosphere of the film, so if I want to watch an HP film I get out my DVDs! Avatar ImageFilmGirl27 says: Yay! I turned on my TV last night and Philosophers Stone was on, and all I could think of (minus Dan's squeaky voice) was "I wonder if they are going to keep this up every week?" Turns out they are, which is awesome. :D Hopefully they will include Goblet and Order so I can tape them.Avatar ImageToNkS_rip says: coolAvatar Imagealicia00 says: grateAvatar ImageFleur-de- Lily says: It cool.Avatar ImageWeasleyWonder says: ☺☺watching rite now!☺☺Avatar ImageSproutMdme says: It's great fun having these on TV for the weekend...But it's the bloody annoying commercials that interrupt it every 10 minutes that really make it difficult to completely enjoy.Avatar Imagepipkin3 says: moglet - please let me know what scenes thy cut, because I don't see anything missing! If they do cut it, normally it is for the time of day it is shown. But I didn't notice any cuts in the part I watched (I missed the final bit), and I know the film really well! The only bit they changed was the credits that just wooshed by! I've never seen ITV cut an HP film, but they may do so with the GOF is they wish to keep showing the films at 3pm. 12 rated films are usually from 7pm onwards.Avatar Imageiampadfoot says: Absolutely blows... the exact same footage we've already seen. "Never-before-seen..." - Nope.Avatar Imagetinagin says: Can't wait for them to air OOTP!!!Avatar ImageHarryPotter90 says: hehe im watching this right now.....sooo greattt :)Avatar ImageNot Slytherin says: I love watching these -- they always have extra/extended scenes!Avatar ImageRosie016 says: The Harry Potter Movies on ABC's Family channel do not cut anything out, they are actually the extended versions with scenes I have never seen before. I was very excited to watch them all weekend, and tape the ones I missed. Avatar Imagebeewell says: Didn't get to see the first one at all since I was in the traveling mode from conference. Did get to see the rest of them and they were great. Love watching the movies with everything in them (the extra deleted scenes). Miss Molly is right..the same footage from the DVD, nothing new but still exciting.Avatar Imageentoptic says: Did anyone notice what the extra scenes for OotP were? I watched and I don't think I noticed anything.Avatar Imagecritterfur says: I had already seen the cut scenes re-integrated into the first three films on ABC Family, but this weekend was the first time I saw the cut scenes put back into Goblet of Fire (like the scene where Harry goes out into the snowy courtyard during the Yule Ball to get some air and runs into a bunch of kids making out, and then sees Snape having a heated conversation with Karkaroff). This was also the first time they showed the Extended version of Order of the Phoenix...it didn't include a whole lot, but there were a few added or extended scenes...for instance, they showed a much longer tirade by Umbridge when she is tricked into going into the Forest, and she gets so riled up during her temper tantrum that she actually seems on the verge of killing Harry and Hermione. There was also a scene I don't remember being in the original version, where Draco and his cronies attack some kids with snowballs (and Luna watches from a hiding spot), and Umbridge witnesses this from up in one of the towers and smiles (perhaps recognizing that these bullies would make excellent informants and watchdogs for her), then they showed the scene from the original movie where Umbridge gives them their badges and makes them part of the Inquisitorial Squad. There also a moment before Dumbledore gives Harry his "I care too much" speech at the end, where Harry walks into Dumbledore's office and thinks it's empty, and ends up glancing up at the Sorting Hat with a sad expression on his face, and before he leaves Dumbledore peeks around the corner and asks him to stay for a bit. There was also a scene after Harry gets tortured by Umbridge's quill for the first time, where the camera pans all around the Gryffindor common room, and you see Seamus playing cards with some other kids, some kids making out, and Neville tending to his Mimbletonia plant, before the camera settles on a depressed Harry, who looks so out of place in the midst of all the fun and happiness. There was also like a four second addition when Neville remarks after Seamus and Harry's spat near the beginning that his grandmother has canceled their subscription to the Daily Prophet. And finally there was a sad little scene near the end when Harry is packing, and Ron comes in to tell him to come down for the end-of-year feast, and Harry tells Ron to go on without him, still horribly saddened by Sirius' death. Avatar ImagePotionsMaster7 says: Yeah, I saw all that too. MOST of the dialouge was directly from the books, but some of it wasn't exactly right. I wish they could just put the deleted scenes into the movie that hits the theaters.Avatar Imagecritterfur says: Oh, they also showed the Hoggy-Hoggy-Hogwarts song being sung in Goblet of Fire, and an extra scene in Goblet of Fire after Crouch Seniors' body is found, where Harry, Ron, and Hermione sit in front of the common room fire, and discuss the fact that the Ministry will have a hard time covering up his Crouch's death, especially because it happened on the Hogwarts grounds. Avatar ImageRin68nyr says: ...and in OOTP, the part right after the fireworks, when Filch blows ont he hot embers in Umbridge's hair. LOLAvatar ImageLoveTomRiddle says: AWESOME I love you ABC Family for doing Harry Potter weekend.Avatar ImageBellatrixGranger says: HP weekend nothing sounds better : DAvatar Imageharrygetsme says: i totally watched the harry potter marathon on abc family! i loved it. unfortunately i missed the DH footage, and since the special edition HBP dvd was sold out when i went to buy it, i still haven't seen it :( anybody know where i can find the footage?Avatar Imagecritterfur says: One link where you can watch the footage is at http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/harry-potter-and-deathly-hallows-part-i/featurette-first-look They have a few short quotes from David Yates and David Heyman, and the short teaser trailer follows directly after. Avatar ImageMidnightSun321 says: I love abroad so I can't watch it :( But I have my own HP Marathons :D But really they should put them on Channel 4/Film 4 on some Saturdays!Avatar Imageenchantedsocks says: Oh I missed Philosopher's Stone, but hopefully I'll be able to watch Chamber of Secrets this Saturday (complete with 5 min commercial breaks every 20 mins & trailers for Dancing on Ice/Ant and Dec's 'whichever programme they're hosting for ITV1 now' etc.). I find it different watching the films on TV rather than on the DVD.
