The Daily Telegraph has a report on the 2010 Sunday Times Rich List online today, which includes actors Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) on its ranking of the top 20 young millionaires. Joining such other young actors, actresses, business moguls, and royals as Keira Knightley, Charlotte Church, and Princes William and Harry, the paper reports the following on the Harry Potter trio:
"Daniel Radcliffe, 20, who plays Harry Potter in the films, was ranked fifth with a fortune of £42 million. His earnings last year alone were £25.6 million according to Vanity Fair magazine. Emma Watson, who plays Hermione Granger, was placed joint 10th with £22 million and Rupert Grint, who plays Ronald Weasley, was 12th with £20 million. The last two films are due to be released later this year and in 2011."
A
second article in the Telegraph notes that Harry Potter J. K. Rowling was also included on the Sunday Times' rankings, listing at number five in the Film and TV Millionaires list. The paper notes, "Harry Potter creator Joanne Rowling – the richest author on the list, with an estimated wealth of £519m – has increased her fortune from the books with a hugely profitable film series. Ms Rowling, who wrote the first of seven Harry Potter books when a struggling single mother in Edinburgh, enjoys a percentage of all royalties and merchandising. But unlike many top authors, she has refused to become a tax exile and still lives in Scotland."

Good for all of them! They all seem very unaffected by their fame and wealth. The books and movies have brought joy to millions. They deserve their wealth.

Congratulations to all of them on being on this list, but even more so for the fact that despite the wealth they have accrued, they remain genuine, authentic, down-to-earth people who do not seem to place much emphasis on what they earn but instead do on what they can for the rest of the world. Well done, everyone listed, and keep up the good work.

I’m not at all surprised by how much money they all have, although I do think that actor’s wages are disproportionate to the amount of work they do (as are sports stars) but such is life and the world we live in. Out of all of them I think that Jo is the only one who has truly deserved the fortune she has I’m glad that none of them appear to be greedy and selfish with their money.

Not really surprised there! And, good for you, Jo!

These four are some of the most deserving individuals on the planet. All seem to care about the world around them and share a portion of their wealth with others. Jo for one is extremely generous and speaks well of her value system. The kids still seem to have alot to learn but are in there doing their bit for charity and causes that affect those around them. They do not seem to the greedy types that one sees in the “young stars” (read brats) on this side of the pond.
Congrats to all!!!!!!
