The Art Directors Guild will present the creative team behind the "Harry Potter" films with the Outstanding Contribution to Cinematic Imagery Award. This will mark the first time a movie series is given the award, according to Deadline Hollywood.
The creative Potter team includes author J.K. Rowling, producers David Heyman and David Barron, director David Yates, screenwriter Steve Kloves, production designer Stuart Craig, art director Neil Lamont and set decorator Stephanie McMillan.
The award will be presented during the 16th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards on Feb. 4 at the Beverly Hilton. Congrats to all being honored!
About time – and yes, I am loving the “first time a movie series is given the award”. Harry Potter does not fit any mold. All those creative people who has given so much for our enjoyment deserve such praise.
Very well deserved, they are a fantastic team of creative people who have dedicated so much time and effort to doing a great job on these films. They’re a really nice bunch of people too. I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie McMillan during a set visit and she is lovely.
And quite right too! They’ve made a major contribution to the British film industry. The feel of the films were spot on thanks to the creative, special and visual effects. I could watch the behind the scenes footage forever.
