TV Watch: J.K. Rowling on BBC's "Who Do You Think You Are?" Tomorrow, Aug. 17 at 9pm BST

J.K. Rowling's appearance on the BBC1 show "Who Do You Think You Are?" will air tomorrow, Wednesday, August 17th at 9pm BST in the U.K.

Always intrigued by her late mother's French ancestry, the Harry Potter author delves into her Gallic roots by visiting Edinburgh, London and Paris. Keen to find out why her great-grandfather, Louis Volant, was awarded one of France's most prestigious medals for his actions during the First World War, the writer makes a surprising and shocking discovery. Even further back, she encounters an ancestor who triumphed against all the odds.

Earlier this month, Ms. Rowling gave an interview to the Radio Times in which she discussed her experience on the show and the decision to trace her mother's French ancestry. We hope to have video of her appearance on the show once it airs!

I just noticed that on one of the other UK channels at the same time as this programme was the terrestrial premier of Twilight.

It was fascinating and really emotional. Jo looked beautiful, as always!
It’s already on Youtube…… though the uploader hasn’t uploaded all parts of the show yet.

It was a very interesting programme indeed, and I learned such a lot. Jo came across very well, and she met some really good people while researching her family history.

I really enjoyed this programme, learnt some really interesting things historically, such as a battle from WW1 that I didn’t know about, the story of her Great Grandfather was fascinating as was the story of his mother and her parents leading to another area of history which I was not familiar with. Jo came across as well as she always does, and you could really see how much what she found out affected her.

Roonwit- you probably won’t see this now but I saw the viewing figures- WDYTYA got a peak of around 6.5 million, Twilight got a peak of a bit of 2 million ;)
