J.K. Rowling tweeted “Well, that’s me crying my eyes out, so job done. Serves me right, some might say. Thank you, thank you xxx” to the director of BBC One’s adaptation of her Casual Vacancy. The mini series aired its third and final episode last night. Many fans are in an uproar over the changed ending between Rowling’s written word and the mini series. However, Rowling seems to be satisfied, as well as a lot of reviewers. The Telegraph wrote a “bravo” review, saying:

This biting, blackly comic drama reminded me of mid-Eighties series A Very Peculiar Practice, Blott on the Landscape and Porterhouse Blue – panoramic ensemble pieces with a cartoonish sense of the absurd.

This, in case you’re in any doubt, is entirely a good thing.

The review uncovers many spoilers, especially it’s reaction to the changed ending, and can be read here. YouTube also posted trailers for the third installment of the mini series, as well as a sneak peak, which can be seen below.
