Yesterday a lizard was named for the spell that almost killed Draco Malfoy (Sectumsempra). Today our reptile Slytherin friend, being alive and well–having survived the Battle of Hogwarts with a little help from Harry (who saved his life twice in one day)–celebrates his 35th birthday. Draco is married to Astoria Greengrass, and they have a son, Scorpius Malfoy. J.K. Rowling gave a heads up to Draco’s birthday yesterday, but may remain silent today; having revealed over Pottermore last Christmas, that Draco didn’t have a “heart of gold under that sneering,” and was truly a despicable character, something tells us she and Draco probably wouldn’t be celebrating each others’ birthdays together. Though Jo also expressed concern for those of us that continue to fawn over Draco, please join us in wishing this prince of Slytherin a very happy birthday!

Update: J.K. Rowling has tweeted that Draco turns 35 today, in response to a fan’s question about his age…she also mentioned she wasn’t invited to the party because she keeps telling girls “they are misguided to fancy him.”
