Just off a let down that “Kredan” is “no one,” and that it is uncertain whether or not Ezra Miller will be playing in Fantastic Beast, we have real official casting news. Ezra will not being playing the character of Jacob because Dan Fogler has been officially announced for the part.

It was previously speculated that Jacob was a wizard, and was Newt’s arch nemesis. Both reports are untrue. Deadline Hollywood, who broke the news of Fogler’s casting, gave reported more about Jacob’s character:

Warner Bros has set Dan Fogler to join the cast of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, the David Yates-directed adventure set inJ.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World. Fogler joins Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol in the cast. He’ll play the role of Jacob, a non-magical person whom Newt (Redmayne) befriends while on his adventure in New York. Rowling wrote the script and the Harry Potter gang of David Heyman, Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram are producing. Warners’ Courtenay Valenti is shepherding.

Deadline Hollywood still reports that Ezra Miller is apart of the Fantastic Beast cast. There may be hope yet: Ezra may still be playing a role for the films, but not as a character named “Kredan.” Dan Fogler verified Deadline Hollywood’s report with his own tweets:
