Colin Farrell joins ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’

The cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them gains a new star as Colin Farrell, the star of HBO’s True Detective, joins the cast. Hollywood Reporter states:

“Farrell will play Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander (Redmayne) meets in New York. The story centers on Newt’s adventures in the secret community of witches and wizards as he attempts to document magical creatures.”

The events of the film take place 70 years before Harry Potter reads Newt’s book at Hogwarts. Alongside Colin Farrell, the film will star Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler. Fantastic Beasts is directed by David Yates from a script written by J.K. Rowling herself.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set for release on November 18, 2016.  Filming was expected to start in late summer of 2015, so we should expect more news soon. Please visit Hollywood Reporter for more news about the casting of Colin Farrell.
