Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland–all have been cast as the leading role of Peter Parker in Spiderman, in the last 13 years. Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) thinks three remakes in that short of time is too much. Yibada reports:
In an interview with Vulture, Thompson said that she is not very pleased with the fact that a new “Spider-Man” movie will be released again in the next couple of years.
“If I see another ‘Spider-Man,’ I’m going to have to actually hang myself. I can’t do it anymore!” she said.
Meanwhile, Thompson clarified that she does not have anything to do with the film or the franchise. It is just that, “Spider-Man” has already been released several times, and in different versions.
“They’re all marvelous. But how many times can you make this franchise, for crying out loud? After a while, you do get a bit cynical about superhero movies. The fact that I know they’re going to win out in the end has now slightly interfered with my continuing to go to those movies,” she said.
