On International Women’s Day, Emma Watson was in New York, fulfilling her role as the Women’s Ambassador to the United Nations. Watson made a small speech to launch HeForShe Arts Week, as a part of her gender equality initiative.

Watson gave a small speech, which can be seen below, talking of the importance of art, it’s meaning and how it carries its weight through feeling and emotion. UN Women posted on Facebook:

Emma Watson launches #HeForShe #Artsweek on #IWD2016“Study after study shows us the value of gender equality. But we have to do more than help people see the logic with their minds, it’s also about making them feel it in their bones.” Watch our Goodwill Ambassador Emma Watson launching the #HeForShe #ArtsWeek on International Women’s Day at The Public Theater. #IWD2016
