J.K. Rowling Reveals Information about Lupin’s Death on the 18th Anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts

18 years ago today, in the early hours of May 2nd 1998, the Battle of Hogwarts took place. Many characters we know and love died that day, and J.K. Rowling gave a special tribute to Remus Lupin in particular to mark the occasion.

If you wasn’t aware Rowling has made a tradition of apologising for character deaths on May 2nd, and this one was a particular burn, because Lupin didn’t have to die! (Although Mr Weasley would have died instead, so either way it was a tragedy… the burden of being an author, eh?)
