Actors and actresses of any ability look for roles that challenge them to extend and expand their skills and talents. Like many older, and well known actors with expansive profiles, Emma Watson is doing her very best to spread her acting wings with her latest film The Colony (previously released as Colonia). A new trailer for the U.K. release of the film has surfaced, on Empire and other U.K. sites, and can be seen below:

Emma Watson stars in The Colony (July 1, 2016 UK release) as Lena, a young women possessed by love of her boyfriend, living Chile during the military coup of 1973. The young couple gets swept up in the ideal of rebellion.

The Colony is based on true events, about a young women looking for her imprisoned boyfriend Daniel. Daniel is played by, Daniel Brühl and he is taken hostage at infamous Colonia Dignidad, a sect nobody has ever escaped from.

In this thrilling dramatic action film we see Emma Watson, our beloved Hermione, facing life and death to rescue the love of her life. Emma Watson looks to be trying to assume a new position in Hollywood as the queen of the action thriller. Do you think she can dominate this type of character like she does everything else?

As Leaky previously reported, The Colony was released as Colonia in the United States last April. The U.S. trailers and poster can be seen here and here. Emma Watson attended the European premiere for the film last February. Future release dates for the film are below.
