Three-time Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood has designed costumes for all manner of celebrities, but her latest partnership related to the wizarding world is with one Eddie Redmayne.

E! spoke to Atwood about working with Eddie on set of The Huntsman: Winter’s War.  Apart from being a great person, Atwood said he’s interested in the process of costume design due to his interest in clothes (he won GQ’s Best Dressed Man this year):

”Eddie’s a really physical actor and, and we started really early with the shapes and how his costume was going to work and his movement and all that really early on, so we evolved it, and he loves clothes so he was really excited about what we were doing.”

On finding the right style for Newt Scamander:

“I’m really excited about the coat that we did, and the colour”

“It kind of evolved pretty quickly, I’d say it took three fittings maybe to get it going – probably about a month”

Atwood says Potter has a special place in her heart, and clearly approves of Eddie Redmayne’s casting in the film, saying that upon seeing him for the first time, she could only thing ‘he’s amazing’:

“He’s very engaged and very intense. It was very immediate, we really clicked and talked about what he wanted to get out of the costume”
