The “Fantastic NYC campaign” is designed to place an emphasis on the films as visitors travel around the city. There will be more details on the partnership and the components of this unique experience will be coming soon!
The website for NYC & Company has updated their page to introduce this new partnership and celebration of the new wizarding world movies! NYCGO wrote:
If you were to ask Newt Scamander—hero of the new filmFantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them—New York City has no shortage of wonders. Around any corner, you might stumble upon an unusual character, an unbelievable innovation or a portal to the past. It’s moments like these that make up the fantastic tapestry of a town where just about anything is possible.
Though much has changed since the 1920s, the fantastic New York seen in the film is alive and well. Read on to discover the modern-day magic, native beasts, best-kept secrets and historic landmarks that make NYC such a fitting backdrop for the film. This is Fantastic NYC.
The website also features 1920s “Then an Now” pictures of places in New York that will feature in the Fantastic Beasts films. This can be viewed here. #FantasticNYC will begin floating around social media about this new, exciting event!
NYC & Company also helped bring Fantastic Beasts to the New York Comic Con! The costumes from the films were put on display, and pictures of them can be seen below. There was also a wand-waving exercise, as an interactive experience for fans. Our friends at MuggleNet were present for special panels, to lead discussions, and live recordings of their official podcast, MuggleCast, and their Fantastic Beasts themed podcast, SpeakBeasty!
