Radiotimes.com reported on Wednesday that the popular ITV drama, Broadchurch (staring David Tennant, who played Barty Crouch Jr. in Goblet of Fire) is suspenseful and exciting and the third and final series is coming soon and the first picture reveals a new third character, played by Julie Hesmondhalgh from Netflix’s Happy Valley. There’s no details about Hesmondhalgh’s character quite yet – but it’s sure to be interesting.

Broadchurch stars Tennant as DI Alec Hardy and Olivia Coleman (Peep Show) as DS Ellie Miller investigate cases in a Dorset community.  In previous seasons they’ve investigated murders and sexual assaults so the third series is bound to bring drama and excitement back to tv.

Digital Spy says that we might learn more about Alec Hardy’s history, the ongoing case against Joe Miller (From the first series) and a completely new crime!

Other notable Brits returning to the show are Doctor Who‘s Arthur Darvill as the local vicar, Paul Coates, Maggie Radcliff is played by Caroline Pickles, Adam Wilson as DI Ellie’s son Tom, and Jodie Whitaker and Andrew Buchan as Beth and Mark Latimer, who we’ve followed since series one.

Other stars include : Lenny Henry, Roy Hudd, Georgina Campbell, who stars in the upcoming King Arthur film, The Holiday’s Sarah Parish, and Mark Bazeley.

The show is headed by  Chris Chibnall, who said :

“We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters. I hope it’s a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me.”

If you’re anything like me, you’ll be patiently (or not so patiently) waiting for the series to premiere in early 2017.

Meanwhile, you can catch up on Broadchurch on Netflix, so get your binge on!
