Today marks the 67th birthday of Mr. Arthur Weasley, portrayed by Mark Williams in the Harry Potter films.

One of the most enthusiastic employees of the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office, Arthur Weasley taught us that curiosity can lead to great things – we’d all love a flying Ford Anglia!

He also fearlessly stood up to Lucius Malfoy and defended his family and his beliefs, leading to a less-than subtle encounter at Flourish and Blotts, which we all applaud him for.

Mr Weasley’s life advice was always spot on:

“Never trust anything that can think for itself if you can’t see where it keeps its brain!”

And his enthusiasm for the Muggle world was simply charming:

“Tell me, what exactly is the function of a rubber duck?”

After valiantly fighting with the Order of the Phoenix and recovering after an encounter with Voldemort’s snake, Nagini, Arthur proved he was a Gryffindor through and through, and we couldn’t think of a better family for Harry to be so close to. Mr and Mrs Weasley are the two most loving, honest and fearless people in this entire series.

We hope Arthur is happy and well, and we ask you to join us in wishing him a very happy birthday!
