Tickets to Harry Potter: A History of Magic go on sale tomorrow, which will give access to unseen material from J.K. Rowling’s very own archives to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The event – previously reported on by Leaky in December – will be held at the British Library and hosted in collaboration with J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury. The exhibit promises over 100 items on display. The exhibition will open on 20 October 2017, and run until 28 February 2018:

“From medieval descriptions of dragons and griffins, to the origins of the philosopher’s stone, the exhibition will take readers on a journey to the heart of the Harry Potter stories.

It will showcase an extraordinary range of wizarding books, manuscripts and objects, and combine centuries-old British Library treasures with original material from Bloomsbury’s and J.K. Rowling’s archives.”

Pottermore recently revealed thee items that will be revealed at the event, including a handwritten Sorting Hat song by J.K. Rowling herself (below), original drawings, manuscripts and editorial notes, as well as pieces from Jim Kay – who has been creating the beautiful illustrated editions of the series:

You can also see some of the earliest depictions of magic from the British Library’s archives in Pottermore’s original piece, here.
