A few days ago, J.K. Rowling tweeted about the release of the new Niffler Plush, which is great news for fans who fell in love with the greedy little bugger upon first glimpsing his sticky paws dig into that beggar’s hat. His cheeky attitude paired with Newt’s incredulous reaction made for perfect comic relief throughout Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. It’s no wonder fans have been greedy for one of their own!

Even Eddie Redmayne, perfectly cast as the famed Magizoologist, can’t deny his affection for the furry creature. He confessed to Pottermore:

“I have a wondrous love-hate relationship with the Niffler. I think that Newt really actually adores his ballsiness.”

No matter how much trouble he causes, Newt can’t stay annoyed with him for long. And, we have to say it, it probably doesn’t hurt to have a little beastie around with a proclivity for nicking shiny bobbles now and then. After all, Magizoologists probably don’t make very much and world travel isn’t cheap.

Neither is the cuddly guy’s replica, for that matter. The plush Niffler is on the pricier side and can only be found at Platform 9 3/4 . It comes to a total of $43, not including the $24 for shipping to the US. The furry Fantastic Beast is 22cm tall, and they’re taking pre-orders now to ship in May.

He’s pretty cute, though, so he might actually be worth it!
