We already posted that the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibit that is currently on display in the British Library in London will be coming to the New York Historical Society from 5 October through 27 January 2019.

Pottermore has just posted that tickets will be available starting 14 February to New York Historical Society members, and to the general public in April.

This exhibition is being mounted in honour of the 20th anniversary of the publication of the first book in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 1997 in the UK and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in 1998 in the U.S.  It features magical artefacts, original drawings and manuscripts, and historical items that inspired elements of the magical world.  The British Library, the New York Historical Society, and Scholastic are each contributing things from their personal collections, so the exhibits will be a bit different on each side of the pond.  To make sure you don’t miss anything, see both.
