Holiday Butterbeer and new treats delight at Harry Potter shops

The most wonderful time of the year has officially landed at the Harry Potter Shops in New York and Chicago, and the transformation is absolutely breathtaking! Both flagship stores are inviting fans to step out of the cold and into a true Wizarding World holiday experience, complete with an array of treats and magical activities.

The primary theme for the season is the Snow Globe, and the decor is designed to make you feel like you’ve been shrunk down and dropped inside a whimsical winter wonderland.

Perhaps the most exciting news for foodies is the arrival of Hot Butterbeer! For the first time ever at these Harry Potter retail locations, fans can warm up with the rich, cozy version of the iconic drink today.

To celebrate the launch of the new warm beverage, the shops are hosting a special toppings bar from Nov. 12 through Nov. 19. Fans can customize their warm drinks with exclusive additions like Butterbeer Caramel Sauce, Butterbeer Cookie Crumble, Cinnamon Dusting and Chocolate Frogs. Tip: Every Butterbeer purchase through Nov. 19 includes complimentary toppings!

Beyond the drinks, both Harry Potter Shops are offering limited-time holiday snacks, including authentic English Mince Pies and Harry & Ron Sweater Cookies. Look for location-specific specialties as well.

Interactive Experiences and Collectibles

Beyond holiday shopping, both stores are offering festive activities:

• – Life-Size Snow Globe Photo Op: The main interactive experience is a whimsical, life-size snow globe that invites guests to capture their own perfect holiday memory (available through the end of the year).
• – The Tree Trail Challenge: Grab a map and embark on a Tree Trail Scavenger Hunt! Solve the secret code after completing the hunt, and you’ll earn a coveted, limited-edition ‘Holidays at Hogwarts’ collectible pin.
• – Complimentary Tours: Guides are offering free, 20-minute tours multiple days a week, highlighting the festive decor and props. These tours, which run through Dec. 24, are a great way to catch all the hidden holiday charm.
• – Flying in NYC: If you’re in the New York store, don’t forget to stop by for the broomstick adventure photo op, which lets you pose as you soar high above a snowy Hogwarts scene.

Seasonal Merchandise and Charitable Giving

Harry Potter Shops have unveiled a new collection of limited-edition merchandise, perfect for fans and gift-givers alike. The range includes Hedwig-inspired hoodies, replicas of Mrs. Weasley’s iconic Christmas jumpers, Hogsmeade Christmas mini snow globes, and ‘Hogwarts in the Snow’ mugs and more.

Finally, in the spirit of Dobby, the Harry Potter Shops are hosting a Sock Donation drive through Dec. 24. Visitors are encouraged to bring a new pair of packaged socks to the register to be collected for local charities in Chicago and New York.
