Could the JK Rowling inspired story about Harry Potter’s youngest son be crossing the pond next year? Hypable.com is reporting that the eighth story in the Potter series could be hitting Broadway as early as next year.

The New York Post reports that The Cursed Child may move into New York’s Al Hirschfeld Theater “next season,” meaning in 2017. The venue is currently home to Kinky Boots, which has been there since April 2013.

The play has been an absolute success in London’s West End. The ticket sales have been phenomenal and this demand could be prompting a quicker opening in New York City.

One reason for the rush to bring it to the States may have to do with how strong ticket sales have been in the U.K. — it’s currently sold out through the end of 2017.

Hypable.com even quotes Rowling’s Twitter account that fans across the globe will be able to see the play sooner than later.

The author of the article points out that while reviews about the script have been mixed the play still wows.

Despite mixed reviews for the script book, all show attendees (including this writer) have been wow’d by the magic happening on stage.
