As many Leaky followers know, the live action version of Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters on March 17, 2017. There has been a plethora of news recently on the upcoming Disney musical, particularly focused on its star Emma Watson as covered here by Leaky. Most Harry Potter fans are also aware that the character, Mrs. Potts is being played by none other than Emma Thompson, Hogwart’s divination professor, Sybill Trelawney. The two Harry Potter alumni are joined by  Dan Stevens as the Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston,  Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father, Josh Gad as LeFou, Ewan McGregor as Lumière, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza,  Audra McDonald as the wardrobe, and Ian McKellen as Cogsworth.

As reported by BroadwayWorld, below is a first listen of a clip of Thompson singing her new version of the title track, “Beauty and the Beast” wriiten by composer Alan Menken.

The snippet was apparently tweeted by an entertainment website called BriefTake.com who attended a pre-opening Beauty and the Beast event and exhibit taking place this weekend at the landmark Casa Loma Castle in Toronto, Canada made possible by Walt Disney Studios Canada.

Readers can learn more about the event here.

We are looking forward to seeing two of our favorite Potter actresses on the big screen together again AND hearing them sing! For readers who can’t wait until opening day, get details here on the March 16 Disney “Be Our Guest” Fan Event.
