Jason Isaacs is set to star in series Star Trek: Discovery, and after a long wait, our first look at him in the Captain’s chair has arrived, along with the release date for the series!

According to Empire, the fifteen episode series will begin on September 24th, and air in the US on CBS (followed by being made available on the All Access streaming service), and will be available on Netflix for viewers outside the US within 24 hours of airing. The season will be split into two ‘chapters’, with the second half airing in January 2018.

See an exclusive photo of Isaacs from Entertainment Weekly below and read more on their latest issue here. Many are saying Isaacs looks ‘suitably uncomfortable’ as Captain Gabriel Lorca, a “brilliant military tactician”:

Issacs also recently gave an interview to entertainment review website Rotten Tomatoes, on his role in Star Trek, Harry Potter and The OA, which you can watch below:

He said on Potter:

“Well, the thing about Harry Potter is, people love it and are so deeply affected by it because it represents not just stories that they liked but [for] most, a lot of people’s entire childhood [as well]. And so there’s that magic that goes on too.”

We eagerly await September! In the meantime, catch up with The OA on Netflix, see him as another Captain in Hook or celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by re-watching his role as Lucius Malfoy in the Potter series!
