It’s a giant week on both sides of the pond for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. In anticipation of the New York opening, over 600 die hard fans braved the cold all day in line at the Lyric Theatre in order to be one of the first to see Cursed Child on Broadway for just $20 per ticket. They were rewarded with snacks and hot drinks served by the production staff and a visit from some of the award-winning cast who spent time in fans up close and personal:

Today the West End production announced that the next wave of wizards will be taking over at the Palace Theatre after the current cast’s final performance on May 20. This new group of actors, who have already begun rehearsals, include Susie Traylin as Ginny Weasley Potter, and the third Jamie in the role of Harry Potter, Jamie Ballard. Newcomer Jonathan Case will step into the role of Scorpius Malfoy and Joe Idris-Roberts will portray his BFF Albus Potter just off a performance in the title role of Cursed Child director John Tiffany’s National Theatre production of Pinocchio.  Familiar faces Thomas Aldridge, James Howard and Helen Aluko will continue in their roles as Ron Weasley, Draco Malfoy, and Rose Granger-Weasley. Rakie Ayola, whose stage door connection with passionate fans on their love of the show ignited the hashtag #WhyIGoBacktoCC, will continue in her role as Hermione Granger Weasley.

Other new cast members getting ready to board the Hogwarts Express include Rosemary Annabella, David Annen, Jordan Bamford, Emma Bown, Adrian Christopher, Craig Connolly, Danny Dalton, Leah Haile, April Hughes, Martin Johnston, Gareth Kennerley, Susan Lawson-Reynolds, Ryan J Mackay, David Mara, Dylan Mason, Barry McCarthy, Sandy McDade, James McGregor, Annette McLaughlin, Tom Peters, James Phoon, Eve Ponsonby, Kate Russell-Smith, Sinéad Sharkey, Amarah-Jae St Aubyn, Mark Theodore and Joshua Wyatt.

And it appears that these new cast members couldn’t be more excited to experience the magic for themselves:

The West End production will also be opening up a new block of tickets on April 5, 2018 for performance January 16-April 7, 2019. Ticket sale information can be found on the play’s website here.
