In a follow-up to the letter in Nature Magazine last month, three scientists from Cambridge’s Department of Plant Sciences had a response published in the current issue of that magazine. They say: [i]f the wizarding allele were dominant, rather than recessive as suggested, wizarding children such as Hermione could not be born to non-wizarding parents.

Bloomsbury, who publish the HP books in the UK, credited overseas expansion and sales of the first five Harry Potter books, not the release of Book Six, for a 12.4 percent rise in first-half pretax profit.
