1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup evaporated milk
3/4 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
4 oz unsweetened chocolate
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1/3 cup light molasses (also known as treacle!)
Melt chocolate and butter in heavy saucepan.
Add milk, sugar & molasses.
Cook to softball stage.
Pour into buttered 8×8 pan.
Cool before cutting. Best if used within a day or two.
