Scotland’s Daily Record reports that J.K. Rowling responded to 12-year-old Breeze Gardner’s request by donating an autographed copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to a charity auction. ” . . . Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is one of the New York Times’ “100 Notable Books of the Year.” HBP is in company with books by Dave Eggers, E. L.
