Yesterday we first told you about the Pride of Britain awards, and the official Emma Watson website has now been updated with confirmation of Emma’s appearance at this event. The website notes that Emma (who portrays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films) will be attending along with author J.K. Rowling and more. To learn more about these awards, which will be held in London Tuesday, October 9, click here. These awards will be broadcast the next day on UK channel ITV1 9:00pm – 10:30pm. If anyone can capture this video, please send it in!
Also Emma sends along her thanks and appreciation for a recent Movies.com awards, where Emma was named “hottest up and coming female artist.” The official Emma Watson website was also named “favourite female official site.” Congratulations to Emma and her team! It should be noted that actor Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) won as well, for “hottest up and coming male,” and HarryPotter.com, the official WB Harry Potter site, was chosen Best Movie site. Congrats to all the winners!
One related note, you can see a photo of Emma taken by her father at the recent National Movie Awards, here.
I adore Emma’s fashion style, but the blue silk shirtdress she wore to this event was far too informal (and rumpled) for the occasion. She normally looks so knock-down gorgeous that her attire made it appear that Emma didn’t take the ceremony seriously. Our Luna, on the other hand, looked fabulous, and Bonnie would have been very fashion-forward if she’d taken off that stupid green sweater! (No offense, Bon, but who is dressing you for these public events? They’re not doing you any favors!)
Emma always looks beautiful no matter what and she looked really gorgeous at the nma’s i love her to death she is my favourite actress my idol and inspiration i want to marry Emma Watson and she is the only really beautiful women in the Harry Potter movies.
Congrats Emma. I’m proud of you. It’s amazing when this is about something as important as Pride of britian and all it stands for and people talk about fashion. There are already enough fashion critics in the world. Can’t we just enjoy what this is about. I could care less what Bonnie or Evanna wore.
“hottest up and coming female”. Well, Emma really didn’t have any competition to speak of in that category while Dan had to compete with Christian Bale and Shia Lebeouf.
And the “Pride of Britain” event should be a good thing although the appearance of the moviestars seems to be only for effect. The real stars are the honorees. could be a waste of time for the celebrities…or not, if they want publicity…
The point of celebs to go is to contrast with the real heroes. Celebs only play hero or seem to be idolized. The point of actors to go there is to show that the real life heros should be idolized more than they.
Blanche-
Shia is so much more respected than Helen Mirian or Judy Dench. Right? And Keira and Megan aren’t worth a dime. Emma had it so easy. Again, this Pride of Britian event is a real special event. I heard Dan may be there so I bet you don’t think so less of it now do you?
Solo: Mirren was not nominated and Dench wouldn’t win any online poll if she bet her life on it. Lots of talent but no support from young ones who comprise the online voters. keira ought to have won but Emma fans are experts at online voting.
And yes, even if Dan attended it would be publicity for his upcoming film “My BoyJack”. ITV is the distributor, isn’t it?
daiana, Dan is not attending this event. DR.co.uk reports that Dan’s publicist has said Dan won’t be attending… pity… BUt he really doesn’t need more publcity, does he? Although he may surprise us with an appearance. That publicist also said before that Dan woudn’t attend the NMA awards but he was there.
You have to be invited to attend. Maybe Dan and Rupert haven’t been invited. You can’t just show up. It’s a really special event, one of the biggest in Britian. It’s an honor to be there.
“It’s a really special event, one of the biggest in Britian. It’s an honor to be there.”
It’s hosted by the Daily Mail! There’s nothing special or honourable about that newspaper. Honestly, I find it yucky that celebrities and politicans even turn up to these cheesy awards.
"Go on, then, Potter," Malfoy said quietly, drawing out his own wand. "Moody's not here to look after you now -- do it, if you've got the guts --"[br]For a split second, they looked into each other's eyes, then, at exactly the same time, both acted.[br][i
Cool, I hope you get video. Also, MuggleNet & DR.co.uk won at the movies.com site.
