Fred and George Family Prank Contest

It’s that time of year again when we celebrate those masters of mayhem
Fred and George Weasley. Over the years their mischief has been
limitless and almost no one has been spared. Remember when they set that
swamp up in the Hogwarts corridor and Filch had to shuttle students
across it by boat for days, or when they attacked Umbridge with a swarm
of blazing fireworks? Positively brilliant we say! But the pranks we
really want to know about are the ones they’ve committed against their
own family.

Your task this month is to interview any member of the Weasley family
and get them to recount the story of a previously unknown prank pulled
on them by Fred and George. Then come on back and share the story with
rest of us in 500 words or less. Try to answer the questions, when did
it happen, where did it happen, and what was the twin’s motivation
behind it. Make sure to keep your stories cannon correct with both time
and place. If they were at Hogwarts, what year was it? If they were at
home, was it durning the holiday break, or did it occur before they
started school or after they left?

Be creative and have fun.

General Rules:

• Anyone 13 years of age and over may enter the contest, including staff members who are not involved in the judging process.
• One entry per person.
• All
  submissions must be the original work of a single contestant. Any
  entries found to contain the work of another author will be
  disqualified.
• All entries must meet PG-13 standards of decency and good taste.
• All decisions by the judges are final.
• The first place winner will receive a handcrafted wand (design changes each month) and a copy of the book The Practitioners Guide to Wand Magic by William C. Wilson, both donated by Wizard Wood Wands,
  as well as 200 MyLeaky points. Second, third, and honorable mention(s)
  will receive 150, 100, and 50 MyLeaky points respectively.

Contest Rules:

• In 500 words or less, write a story of a brilliant
  prank that Fred and George pulled on any of their family members, it can
  take place at any time, anywhere, but it must be cannon correct
• Your
  submission must be e-mailed to [email protected] by 11:59
  pm (EDT) on April 30th, with “Family Prank” in the subject line of the
  e-mail.
• Please copy-paste your description into the body of
  the e-mail and include a name to be used for authorship. You may use
  your real name or your Leaky Lounge name.
