King’s Cross Guard Journal Entry Contest
“Strange things are happening at King’s Cross Station…”
¦a quote spotted on the journal page of a King’s Cross Station guard.
Unfortunately, the journal was closed before our source could read more,
but he/she says they did notice the date above the entry was September
1st.
As members of the wizarding community, we’re certain you realize the
importance of that date as it corresponds directly with the annual
departure of the Hogwarts Express. Obviously the Ministry of Magic is
most unnerved by this revelation.
So your mission this month is to obtain that journal, copy down the
entry for September 1st, and email it to us for review no later than
midnight on the 30th. We must know what he has seen, what he suspects,
and what, if anything, he plans to do to confirm his suspicions.
General Rules:
- Anyone 13 years of age and over may enter the contest, including staff members who are not involved in the judging process.
- One entry per person.
- All
submissions must be the original work of a single contestant. Any
entries found to contain the work of another author will be
disqualified. - All entries must meet PG-13 standards of decency and good taste.
- All decisions by the judges are final.
- The first place winner will receive a handcrafted wand (design changes each month) and a copy of the book The Practitioners Guide to Wand Magic by William C. Wilson, both donated by Wizard Wood Wands,
as well as 200 MyLeaky points. Second, third, and honorable mention(s)
will receive 150, 100, and 50 MyLeaky points respectively. - Please refer to our FAQ if you are not sure of something.
- If you have any questions not answered in the FAQ, or would like to discuss this Contest, please come to the Contest Corner Forum of The Leaky Lounge.
Contest Rules:
- In 500 words or less, write a journal entry from
the perspective of a Kings Cross Station Guard dated September 1st. Be
sure to mention in the entry any strange occurrences, people, or
creatures spotted on that day and what you thought of them. Did they ask
odd questions, cause disturbances, or seem to vanish into thin air? Be
creative. - Your submission must be e-mailed to
[email protected] by 11:59 pm (EDT) on September 30th,
with “Journal Entry” in the subject line of the e-mail. - Please
copy-paste your Journal Entry into the body of the e-mail and include a
name to be used for authorship. You may use your real name or your
Leaky Lounge name.
