J.K. Rowling finished “Hallows” 9 years ago, Today

2016 is turning out to be a big year for Harry Potter anniversaries. J.K. Rowling, who has a tweet pinned to her time line honoring the great, late David Bowie, also mentioned that she finished the final installment of the Harry Potter series 9 years ago today, in her Balmoral hotel room.

It has been well known, and Rowling has commented several times her reaction to finishing the series. She was heartbroken…for a good while. Truth be told, so were we.
