Anybody familiar with Guy Ritchie’s 2000 cult film Snatch (which starred Jason Statham and Brad Pitt) will be pleased to hear that Sony’s streaming network Crackle is set to release a new 10-part series based on the movie. Not only that, but Rupert Grint will be an executive producer along with creator / writer Alex De Rakoff, and a starring actor in the seres.

Deadline reports:

“Snatch will carry the spirit of the setting in the film, while creating a new world with new characters. Inspired by a real life heist in London, Snatch, centers on a group of twenty-something, up-and-coming hustlers who stumble upon a truck load of stolen gold bullion and are suddenly thrust into the high-stakes world of organized crime. The boys must quickly learn to navigate the treacherous waters of London’s underworld as rogue cops, gypsy fighters, international mobsters and local villains descend.

Grint will play the dynamic, frustratingly chaotic and utterly posh con man, Charlie Cavendish. Scott plays Vic Hill, who continues the con game from inside prison; Westwick plays night club owner Sonny Castillo.”

Filming will start next week in Manchester (UK) with the series set to be released in 2017. Rupert has recently starring in Moonwalkers alongside Fantastic Beasts’ Ron Perlman, as well as appearing on Broadway opposite Ferris Bueller‘s Matthew Broderick and The Lion KingModern Family‘s Nathan Lane, in It’s Only a Play.

Grint is also set to star with Nick Frost in Sky Atlantic’s Sick Note, which you can read more about here.
