J.K. Rowling, News

J.K. Rowling is truly a great person. She continually gives back to the community through charitable donations and events. Not only this but she remains one of the most powerful authors. In fact the Hollywood Reporter has named her the most powerful author of 2016. In their article they state,

“Even without the Harry Potter series and its blockbuster film run, Rowling would make the cut…”

The reality is that Rowling has had quite a lot of success post Potter. Her novel The Casual Vacancy was turned into a miniseries with a collaboration between the BBC and HBO. Not only this Rowling, through the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, continues to write her mystery series featuring private eye Cormoran Strike, which is also being developed into a miniseries. Rowling inspired a successful play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, by providing an original Potter story. The Hollywood Reporter points to her forthcoming film as the proverbial cherry on top.

“The Nov. 18 film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, set in the Potter-verse but without Harry, brings the biggest test yet for Rowling, 51, who penned the screenplay (her first) for Warner Bros.”

Rowling clearly still has the magical touch and she plans to continue providing great stories for years to come. To read the full article visit The Hollywood Reporter.
