As Leaky reported back in August, “a brand new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, featuring new content by J.K. Rowling, as well as new formats and editions of Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard will be released in 2017.”

We are excited to announce that Bloomsbury released the cover images for the new editions of two of the Hogwarts Library, Harry Potter companion books! New images for The Tales of Beedle the Bard  and Quidditch Throughout the Ages were released this morning and can be seen below.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is also apart of this Hogwarts Library set. However, with its relation to the new movie series, plans for the new book cover are slightly more complicated than new releases for The Tales of Beedle the Bard  and Quidditch Throughout the Ages. The cover for Fantastic Beasts, coming March 14, 2017,  will also be created by the same illustrator, Jonny Duddle, as it’s fellow companion books. We hope to hear more about that cover soon! Until then, we can get excited over The Tales of Beedle the Bard  and Quidditch Throughout the Ages:

The Bloomsbury press release states:

“Bloomsbury Publishing is excited to reveal new covers for The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages. Illustrated by Harry Potter cover artist Jonny Duddle, the jackets show new images from both books. The front cover of The Tales of Beedle the Bard shows the wizard being chased by the hopping pot, and the front cover of Quidditch Through the Ages features Roderick Plumpton who famously caught the Golden Snitch within three and a half seconds in 1921. Both new editions are published on 12th January 2017 in hardback and paperback formats.

“The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages are based on Harry’s school textbooks from the Harry Potter series, and were written by J.K. Rowling in aid of charity: Quidditch Through the Agesin aid of Comic Relief, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard in aid of J.K. Rowling’s children’s charity Lumos.”

As we reported earlier, new editions of all the companion books, as well as others, comes as apart of Bloomsbury’s celebration of the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter!
