The Payson Roundup reported that a group from the Victory Chapel gathered outside of the Payson Public Library to protest the library’s “Harry Potter, a Kid’s Night Out” event. The protesters used bullhorns to annouce to the children that, “God would think Harry Potter is an abomination”.

CBBC reports that J.K. Rowling is now the wealthiest woman in Britain, and ranks 5th on the list overall. Also on the list is Harry Potter himself…Daniel Radcliffe. Thanks, Raquel!

J.K. Rowling

US Magazine has named J.K. Rowling the most powerful woman in Hollywood. Was there even a question? EDIT: It isn’t ‘US Magazine’, it’s a United States magazine (Entertainment Weekly, as TLC reader Sue pointed out). Forgive my flub – although I’m actually sort of amused by it. 🙂

In a recent interview, First Lady Laura Bush urged doctors to prescribe reading for young children. The article also stated that she read all five Harry Potter books over the summer and, “loved them”. Thanks, Heather!
