Alexandre Desplat Named Composer of the Year at World Soundtrack Awards

This weekend the World Soundtrack Awards were held at Ghent International Film Festival and Alexandre Desplat, composer of the scores for “Deathly Hallows: Part 1” and “Deathly Hallows: Part 2,” was named composer of the year. The other winners at the festival can be found here.

International Territories to be Unaffected by Harry Potter DVD Pull

Cinema Blend is reporting that international territories, meaning any country apart from the United States, will not be affected by Warner Bros.’ decision to stop shipment of the “Harry Potter” DVDs and Blu-rays after Dec. 29, 2011. Entertainment Weekly has released an exclusive behind the scenes clip from the “Deathly Hallows: Part 2” Blu-ray. In a followup to Leaky’s September 20th news that Warner Bros. would cease shipment of all eight “Harry Potter” films on BluRay and DVD starting December 29th, Deadline.com has posted a snippet containing further information about the decision.
