King overtakes Harry in box office battle

The BBC reports that “Return of the King” has overtaken “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” to become the second most successful film ever. According to box office totals, Titanic still holds the lead with $1.8 billion dollars.

Figures.com has posted pictures of the new Harry Potter toys from Mattel, on display at Toy Fair 2004. There are 32 pictures so far, including these figurines: Lupin/werewolf, Harry – ‘Expecto patronum’, Dumbledore, and a very scary creature. Mary Grand Pre, the illustrator for the US editions of the Harry Potter books, will be one of the artists featured in an exhibition at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.Opening March 6th, the “Women in Illustration” exhibition will feature artwork used in a variety of fields such as those seen in books,magazines,and advertisments.
