IGN Filmforce is reporting, and we can independently and officially confirm, that Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan will be the venue for the May 23 world premiere of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

The roughly two-minute trailer that we’ve confirmed will play in front of Scooby Doo 2 will be new footage, we’ve also officially confirmed. This will not be the trailer that was previewed on the BBC in February – it’s brand new!

It’s been previously reported, and expected, and rumored for ages, but we’ve received official word from the studio that the trailer will be attached to Scooby Doo 2 on March 26. Many reliable sources also say this won’t be a fan’s first opportunity to see this trailer.

Today, J.K. Rowling was interviewed on the BBC Radio 4 show “The Learning Curve”. While the topic was not about the Harry Potter books, the interview gave greater insight to the struggle that J.K. Rowling went through as a single parent attending college for her teaching degree.
