JK Rowling met with 18 children at the Hotel de la Reconquista’s Covadonga Hall in Spain. The children came from the Oviedo Children’s Hospital and the San José Children’s Home for the chance to ask Rowling questions about herself and Harry. The Financial Times reports that scientist have named an orphan gene Harry Potter, in keeping with the tradition of naming orphan genes after famous orphans. The gene, “plays a key role in regulating the onset of puberty, one of the great mysteries of human biology”.
